Join the Colorado Railroad Museum on Saturday, August 9th and Sunday August 10th for a special end-of-summer "Steam-Up" event celebrating the state's rich mining and railroading past! Ride behind Rio Grande Southern "Ten-Wheeler" No. 20, a coal-fired steam locomotive built in 1899 to serve the booming Gold Rush towns of Cripple Creek and Victor.
Enjoy a full day of family-friendly fun, with pop-up exhibits, Gold Panning demonstrations (Saturday only), steam train rides, face painters, turntable demonstrations and more 15-acre railyard. Don't forget to say hello to the Museum's mascot, Spike the Railroad Dog, and grab a bite at one of the food vendors on-site!
Museum Grounds Open: 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Activities & Train Rides: 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Regular admission and train ride pricing apply: Adults are $14, seniors (age 60 and up) are $12, and children ages 2 - 17 are $7. Museum members and children under age 2 receive free admission and train rides.
Capacity is limited, so advance purchase of admission and train ride tickets is highly recommended.
